PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
AMERICAN CIVIL LIBERTIES UNION, New York, NY
Managed and maintained an organization-wide intranet with a user audience of about 1,000 staff and key volunteers in fifty-three ACLU affiliates in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Worked with technology consultants to transition from static site to a database-driven site powered by Microsoft SharePoint. Trained different user groups (readers, contributors and site editors) in SharePoint. Created and posted web content on behalf of the Affiliate Support Department.

Consulted for a number of clients, including the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, Theatre Mama, and Arqule, Inc.
ANTIGENICS INC, New York, NY
Managed corporate intranet at NASDAQ-listed biotech company.
- Designed content-management system (using PHP/postgreSQL) for daily news items, allowing for collection of accurate web statistics. Saved company approximately $40K by producing in-house.
- Developed web-based applications for internal departments including Intellectual Property, Knowledge Management, and Market Development.
- Conducted employee usability studies in conjunction with the Director of Research at the Nielsen Norman Group. Results published in NNG’s 2006 intranet usability study.
NATURE PUBLISHING GROUP, New York, NY
- Managed weekly and monthly upload procedures for multiple online journal products, including Nature Immunology and Nature Genetics.
- Performed quality assurance of online content using SGML/XML and HTML.
- Worked with print production to insure consistency of content.
- Processed and archived production files from outside vendors and in-house departments.

Aggregated content with editors and physicians for several major health care websites.
- Designed, programmed, and implemented user registration engine for 30,000+-member network using Perl/mySQL.
- Created synchronized streaming media presentations using SMIL and RealProducer.

- Provided front-end and database (mySQL, MS SQL Server) development to a range of clients.
- Designed and implemented web interfaces using HTML and JavaScript.
- Produced CGI scripts in Perl, ASP, and Cold Fusion; banner ads and interstitials using Photoshop, ImageReady and Flash; interactive CD-ROM guides.

- Maintained website for 125,000+-member professional society for mechanical engineers.
- Created and managed online databases using Illustra, Oracle, Tcl script.
- Implemented procedural and editorial style guides, site map, and system documentation.
- Managed all user queries sent to webmaster@asme.org.
- Trained other employees in HTML.
- Spoke at user chapter groups regarding their needs and the future direction of the Society’s website.

VOLUNTEER WEB WORK
- Children of Armenia Fund. Web development (including design, HTML, PHP, and Flash) for nonprofit organization working to improve living conditions among rural youth in Armenia. (2004–2005)
- Jeff Buckley.com. Maintenance and project management of the official website for Sony recording artist Jeff Buckley. Oversaw transition of the site from Sony to the Estate of Jeff Buckley, including researching hosting options, creation of new backend scripting and mySQL database, and coordination of online newsletter. (2001)
